Error description

  • Instance crash when column function inside column function under
    order by clause

    The simplified scenario for this problem:
    ceate table a (a1 int, a2 int, a3 int);
    select a1, abs(sum(a2)) as aa from a group by a1 order by
    max(aa);

Local fix

  • The work around to avoid the trap is replace aa with
    abs(sum(a2)). This
    will avoid the trap, and gives SQL0112N.
