APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
This APAR deals with the following related issues: . 1) During authentication, DB2 UDB saves the authentication information (e.g. groups) to a list located in memory. It has been discovered that on several occasions, for example during memory allocation failures, the list is handled improperly. This may result in potential memory corruption and/or instance crashes in DB2 UDB authentication routines. The exact external symptoms of the problem are not yet known. The purpose of this APAR is to improve the handling of the in-memory list. . 2) This APAR also improves the diagnostic data gathered during problems in DB2 authentication routines. This will simplify future investigations of such problems.
