JR61669: DB2 CONNECTOR FAILS TO IMPORT TABLE METADATA VIA IMAM WHEN COLUMN HAS DB2SECURITYLABEL TYPE

Error description

• DB2 label-based access control (LBAC) can be used to protect
  rows of data, columns of data, or both. Data in a table can be
  protected by security labels that are part of the security
  policy protecting the table. When a table data is protected, a
  column with a data type of DB2SECURITYLABEL is present.
  
   The
  import of table metadata via IMAM fails with the following
  error:
   IMAM_MIF> Table SAMPLETABLE could not be imported:
  Unsupported data type
   for column #1: COLUMNNAME, ODBC type
  code: 0, Native type: DB2SECURITYLABEL.

  Install patch JR61669

Problem conclusion

• Column data type DB2SECURITYLABEL cannot be imported natively
  (as DataStage does not support this datatype). DB2 database
  describes values returned as VARCHAR(128) FOR BIT DATA. DB2
  Connector will import column as VARBINARY(128) with a
  description set to "DB2SECURITYLABEL".
