JR61309: ALLOW ORACLE CONNECTOR TO BEHAVE LIKE ORACLE EE OPERATOR FOR UPSERT WHEN ARRAYSIZE=1 AND REJECT LINK EXISTS

APAR status

• Closed as new function.

Error description

• When an UPDATE operation fails due to ORA-1403 and the UPDATE is
  part of an UPDATE then INSERT (UPSERT) operation and there is a
   reject link which specifies "Row not updated - Update mode" the
   Oracle Connector sends the record down the reject link. This
  does not mimic the Oracle EE Operator behavior. This APAR allows
   an Oracle Connector to attempt the INSERT operation with the
  record when all of the following circumstances are satisfied.
  1) The UPDATE was the 1st part of an UPSERT operation, and
  2) the array size is 1, and
  3) there is a reject link, and
  4) zero records were updated, and
  5) the UPDATE operation results in an ORA-1403 non-error, and
  6) the new user defined environment variable
  CC_ORA_UPSERT_REJECT_OVERRIDE is set to TRUE in the job or
  project.
  Please note that the ORA-1403 situation is determined when
  OCI_SUCCESS is reported by Oracle and zero records were updated.
  This mimics Oracle EE Operator behavior.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The Oracle Connector was modified to mimic the Oracle Enterprise
  Operator in the exact conditions described.
  

Problem conclusion

• Since other customers might rely on the current behavior, an
  Oracle Connector job that wants to act like the Oracle Operator
  requires the user defined environment variable set like this:
  CC_ORA_UPSERT_REJECT_OVERRIDE=TRUE
