Error description
User using local operating system authentication has to have both the "DataStage and QS Administrator" and "DataStage and QS User" selected in the IIS web console before the user is able to login using a DataStage client. If they only have "DataStage and QS User" role selected in IIS web console and "DataStage and QS Developer" selected using DataStage Admininstartor client permission, they get "The current user does not have the required DataStage roles set up."
Local fix
At the client workstation level set the following environment variable, close and restart the DataStage client. USE_RMI=TRUE
Problem summary
If users only have "DS and QS User" role selected in IIS web console and "DS and QS Developer" selected using DataStage Administrator client permission, they get "The current user does not have the required DS roles set up."
Problem conclusion
The problem is caused by the non-default port number used in DataStage server. The non-default port number appears in the project name, such as DSSERVER:31555/MYPROJECT, and caused failure in querying the xmeta database. The solution is to remove the port number from the project name in the query.
