Error description
On Windows, DAS service exists after uninstalling DB2. For eg: DB2DAS00 service. Even if we uninstall DB2 using both 'windows control panel - Add/Remove Programs' or 'db2unins -f', DAS service still exists on the system. However, this problem can occur only if we have only one DB2 copy installed on the system. In case of multiple copies of DB2, if we uninstall DB2 copy which has the DAS, the DAS service will be removed by uninstallation properly.
Local fix
We need to remove DAS service explicitly from Windows services using Windows Registry. Please be careful while editing windows registry.
