APAR status

Error description

  • The "Yielding timeslice..." message was put in place to guage
the behavior of a fix for a hang situation when DB2 runs out of
socket pairs.
The fix involves an agent attempting to obtain a latch, and
failing such, its timeslice is yielded so another agent can do
some work while it waits for the latch again.
The message was intended for development purposes and only
as an additional informational message for the customer which
does not require the customer's attention.

This message also exists in v82 but not v95. The message will be
set to a logging priority of informational.

Local fix

  • Set diaglevel to 2.
But this will also hide other info and warning messages.
