Error description
DB2 snapshot code calls internal OSS API functions which can't properly handle raw device names on Windows OS. If you choose a raw device on Windows for your tablespace containers (raw device is a NT volume in a non NTFS partition of your disk) you may see messages in db2diag.log if you perform certain snapshot functions which calls these API functions. Suppose the container name is "\\.\R:", then for example the following actions causing the problem: 1- when obtaining tablespace snapshot information ("db2 get snapshot for tablespaces on <dbname>") the following may be seen: 2007-09-18-12.48.44.462000+120 I10487H404 LEVEL: Error (OS) PID : 2724 TID : 2944 FUNCTION: DB2 Common, OSSe, ossGetDiskInfo, probe:25 MESSAGE : ECF=0x9000001E The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect CALLED : OS, -, GetFileAttributes OSERR: ERROR_INVALID_NAME (123) ARG #1 : String, 3 bytes \\.
