IT35081: TCP listener port value is not validated against the documented maximum value of 65535

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When defining an MQ listener object, with a transport type of
  TCP, the command server incorrectly allows values up to
  999999999.
  
  The maximum valid value is 65535, and values above this number
  will be truncated
  

Local fix

• Ensure that LISTENER objects of TRPTYPE(TCP) are defined with a
  value of or below 65535.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The MQ command server validation logic did not correctly enforce
  the maximum value of 65535.
  

Problem conclusion

• The MQ command server validation logic has been corrected such
  that values above 65535 for the listener's TCP port number will
  be rejected when creating or modifying a TCP listener
  definition.
  
  Any existing TCP listener definitions with a value higher than
  65535 will continue to exhibit the current truncation
  behavior,and should be manually corrected to a valid value by an
  MQ administrator.
