APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The ps output captured by runmqras shows lot of memory consumed
    by corosync process.
    
    Example excerpt from "ps -eo" output:
    
     24850    1  2 S 64702492 32.5 1.5  Feb 09 13:04:46 root  root
     root   root   corosync
    
    This ps output indicates corosync process consumed around 64 GB
    memory.
    

Local fix

  • Reboot the appliance.
    

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users of MQ appliance with QMs configured High in Availability
    likely to see
    high memory usage on the HA appliance where the QMs are running
    as standby
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The memory leak occurred because of defects in corosync and
    pacemaker components used
    for High Availability in MQ appliance.
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ appliance corosync and pacemaker components have been updated
    to higher version to fix the memory leak.
