Error description

  • When taking database snapshot, there is a small timing condition
    that can cause the instance to trap. A sample stack dump of the
    trap is shown below:

    sqlpGetDbMonLog(sqeLocalDatabase*, sql_static_data*,
    SQLP_DBMON_LOG_INFO*)
    sqlmindb(sqm_agent_entity*, sqeLocalDatabase*, char const*,
    unsigned int, sqlm_dbase*, sqm_snapshot_buffer*,
    sqlm_bp_int_info const&, unsigned long, unsigned long, unsigned
    long, sqlm_header_info*)
    sqm_snap_dbase(sqm_agent_entity*, sqlo_gmt const&,
    sqeLocalDatabase*, char const*, unsigned int,
    sqm_snapshot_buffer*, sqlm_dbase**, sqlm_header_info*)
    sqlmonssagnt(unsigned int, sqm_entity_id, sqlmai*, unsigned int,
    void*, sqlm_collected*, unsigned short, unsigned short, sqlca*)
    sqlmPdbRequestRouter(sqeAgent*)
    sqleSubRequestRouter(sqeAgent*, unsigned int*, unsigned long*)
    sqleProcessSubRequest(sqeAgent*)
    sqeAgent::RunEDU()
    sqzEDUObj::EDUDriver()
    sqlzRunEDU(char*, unsigned int)

Problem conclusion

  • We need to cache some variables here and use cached values
    throughout function to avoid anything changing underneath us.
