APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A username is provided by a client program connecting to the
    queue manager.  This username is not valid according to the
    user/group repository in use.  The username is eventually
    rejected.  The rejection should happen much earlier in the
    internal processing being done on behalf of the SVRCONN channel,
    to make the MQ code consistent with the MQ design.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A logic error meant that once a SVRCONN channel had determined
    that a connection would be rejected due to an authentication
    failure, additional validation were unnecessarily performed
    against this connection, instead of returning the authentication
    failure response to the client immediately.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ code has been corrected.
