IT24845: The runmqsc console reports "no entry for terminal type 'xterm'"when running in xterm on HP-UX

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running the command runmqsc with queue manager name with
  MQ V9 on HP-UX, the following error message is output:
  
  No entry for terminal type "xterm"
  
  Even when the environment variable TERM is set to "xterm", the
  issue persists. This message does not affect the operation of
  the runmqsc console.
  

Local fix

• Set the environment variable MQ_OVERRIDE_LIBEDIT_LOAD to TRUE to
  prevent loading libedit - this will remove the command
  completion and recall facility from the runmqsc console.
  
  Alternatively, this informational error message may be safely
  disregarded.

  A coding error within the libedit library failed to correctly

• The libedit code has been modified to correctly identify the
  xterm terminal type on HP-UX.
