Error description

  • When running a Client schedule, both for selective backup or
    archive purposes,  if the OPTIONS field contains '-subdir' and
    the OBJECTS field has been populated
    with a file specification with an invalid syntax, the schedule
    will complete successfully and only reports the following
    message in the Client's log :
    
    ANS1016I: No eligible files were found.
    
    
    For example, if the end user of a Windows client needs to backup
    both the C: and D: drive, the correct schedule syntax for
    archive would be:
    
    define schedule standard test action=archive objects="C:\* D:\*"
    options="-subdir=yes"
    
    While an example of an incorrect schedule that will result in
    ANS1016I message would be:
    
    define schedule standard mysched action=archive objects='"C:\*
    D:\*"' options="-subdir=yes"
    
    **Note the single quotation marks surrounding the double
    quotations marks.**

Local fix

  • Correct the file specification in the OBJECTS field  in order to
    use a proper syntax for the Operating System in use.
    Review the "DEFINE SCHEDULE" online documentation for more info
    on OBJECTS usage.
