IJ05110: A FAILED AND ROLLED BACK PATCH ATTEMPT FROM 7.3.0.X TO 7.3.1.X CAN CAUSE ISSUES WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PATCH AGAIN

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • It has been identified that subsequent attempts to patch after
    a failed, and then rolled back, 7.3.0.x to 7.3.1.x patch can
    fail due to residual postgres folder structures that are not
    cleaned up during an initial failed patch/rollback.
    
    Messages similar to the following might be visible in the
    current /var/log/setup-7.3.1.xxxxxx/patches.log file when this
    issue is occurring:

Local fix

  • Contact Support for a possible workaround that might address
    this issue in some instances.
