AIX trustchk: group getgrnam errors

Question

How can I resolve the following installation errors?

0503-408 installp: bosboot process starting...

trustchk: Verification of attributes failed: group
getgrnam: The process does not exist.
trustchk: Correction of attribute failed: group
trustchk: Verification of stanza failed:

Answer

1) Determine the group ownership for the file.
# ls -al /usr/sbin/cfgmgr
-r-sr-x---    1 root      system       56480 Aug 21 2020  /usr/sbin/cfgmgr
2) Check for the group's stanza in /etc/group.
 system:!:0:root,srvproxy,esaadmin
NOTE: There is a leading space in the /etc/group stanza for system.
3) Remove this space.
# vi /etc/group
4) Try trustchk again
# trustchk -y /usr/sbin/cfgmgr
