By default, the fields defined in the logical data specification
are considered to be independent fields. An exception is the field
defined by means of DM_setClasTarget, a method of
the DM_ClasSettings type. The field defined in this
way is considered to be the dependent field; this field must be of
the categorical mining type.
The Tree Classification algorithm enables you to specify optional
field-related information in a logical data specification, as follows:
Specify a name mapping for a categorical field by using DM_setFldNmp.
The Tree Classification algorithm does
not support certain
optional field-related information that can be specified in a logical
data specification. It is possible to specify this information in
a logical data specification contained in a classification settings
object. However, this has
no impact on the classification model
being generated. The unsupported specifications are as follows:
- Specifying a taxonomy for a categorical field by using DM_setFldTax
- Specifying lower and upper bounds for numerical fields by using DM_setFldOutlLim
