Associating metadata to projects in InfoSphere FastTrack

When you associate metadata in the IBM® InfoSphere® FastTrack metadata repository to a project, the metadata becomes a data source for the project. You then use the data source to create source-to-target mappings.

About this task

Perform this task after you create connections to your data sources and import metadata into the metadata repository. When the metadata is in the repository, you can then associate the metadata to your project.

Procedure

  1. Work with the project properties or a view of the metadata repository:
    Option Description
    Project properties
    1. Click Projects > Project Properties.
    2. Select one or more projects. To select multiple items, press the Shift key or Ctrl key and click.
    3. Click Data Sources.
    4. Select one or more data sources in the Available Data Sources column.
    5. Click the arrow (>) to move the data sources to the Selected Data Sources column.
    Metadata repository
    1. On the Workspace Navigator, click Metadata > Metadata Repository on the Workspace Navigator.
    2. Expand the hierarchical tree to view the metadata that you want to be a data source in your project and select the metadata.
    3. From Task list, click Add to Projects.
    4. Select one or more projects. To select multiple items, press the Shift key or Ctrl key and click.
  2. Click OK.
