Upgrading IBM Case Foundation
The full workflow processing capabilities of IBM Case Foundation are installed with the Content Platform Engine. Entitlement is determined by licensing. You can install IBM Case Foundation either interactively or silently.
Before you begin
Be sure that you have available the Installation and Upgrade Worksheet that was completed during your planning activities.
About this task
You can install the IBM Case Foundation components shown in the following table. Note that some of the components can be installed only on Windows.

| IBM Case Foundation | Install this software on a Content Platform Engine to enable full workflow processing capabilities. |
| Tools | Install the Tools component to install utilities for
Case Analyzer. The Tools component includes database maintenance tools
to compress the Case Analyzer store, configuration and management tools
to configure Case Analyzer settings and to initialize and manage the
Case Analyzer store, and upgrade tools to upgrade the Case Analyzer service. Install the Tools component on the Content Platform Engine server after installing the Content Platform Engine. If the Content Platform Engine server and the Content Platform Engine Tools component are installed on different machines, install the IBM Case Foundation Tools component in the same location as the Content Platform Engine Tools component. steps to ensure that your IBM Case Foundation Tools are properly installed:
In an upgrade when IBM Case Foundation V5.3.0 is already installed, simply run the latest Content Platform Engine installer with only the Tools option selected. |
