Revalidating a software instance

To ensure that the discrepancies identified are resolved, use the Revalidate action to revalidate the software instance or use the Maintenance Reports > Software Instance Validation action to regenerate the report. Invoking either action causes z/OSMF to rerun all of the validation checks for the software instance.

Procedure

  1. If the Software Instance Validation report you created for the software instance is still available, complete the following steps:
    1. If the maintenance reports are hidden from view, use the Show Hidden Maintenance Reports action to re-display them.
    2. Bring focus to the Software Instance Validation report that you created for the software instance.
    3. In the Errors table, click Revalidate or select Revalidate from the Actions menu. To revalidate the software instance, z/OSMF might need to collect information from different systems. In which case, you might be prompted for additional information such as your login credentials for the system or the HTTP proxy information. If prompted, provide the requested information.

A progress indicator is displayed that informs you that z/OSMF is processing the request and might take several minutes to complete. For more details about the indicator, see help topic About progress indicators.

If the software instance was revalidated, the Date validated field is updated. For more details about the items displayed in the report, see help topic About the Software Instance Validation report.

  2. If the Software Instance Validation report you created for the software instance no longer exists, recreate the report. To do so, complete the steps provided in help topic Creating the Software Instance Validation report.
