Configuring columns

To select the columns to display in the table, to specify the order of those columns, and to designate which columns should be fixed in position when the table is scrolled horizontally, use the Configure Columns action. You can also use this action to display columns hidden by default (if any).

Procedure

  1. Select Configure Columns from the Actions menu. If the action is not listed, you cannot configure the columns in the table.
  2. In the Configure Columns window, to move a column from the Selected list to the Available list, select the corresponding column and click Remove. To move all of the columns to the Available list, select Remove All.
  3. To add a column to the Selected list, select the corresponding column and click Add. To add all of the columns to the Selected list, select Add All.
  4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the columns to be displayed are included in the Selected list. At least one column must be displayed in the table.
  5. To specify the order in which to display the columns, select a column in the Selected list and click Up or Down to move it to the correct position. The first column in the list will be the first column in the table, the second column in the list will be the second column in the table, and so on.

If the table contains default fixed columns, the column in which the item is displayed is shifted by the number of default fixed columns. For example, if there are two default fixed columns, the first column in the list will be the third column in the table.

  6. Repeat Step 5 until the columns are in the correct order.
  7. In the Additional fixed columns field, indicate the number of columns to remain visible when scrolling the table horizontally. In the Selected list, a plus sign (+) will precede the name of the columns that will be fixed in position.

The number of fixed columns specified is in addition to any default fixed columns. If too many columns are fixed, columns might be included in the table to which you cannot scroll. To resolve this problem, reduce the number of fixed columns or adjust the width of the columns by clicking and dragging the divider between the column headers. If you cannot click and drag the divider, you cannot resize the columns.

  8. Click OK to save your changes.

Results

The columns are configured as you specified. Some tables save the configuration for the next time you access z/OSMF.

In most tables, you can also change the order of the non-fixed columns by dragging and dropping the column header into the correct position. You cannot use the drag and drop feature to move fixed columns, and you cannot place a non-fixed column before a fixed column.
