- Error
- Incorrect output on an ICHEINTY macro when looking at discrete
or generic profiles.
- Action
- Check the meaning of the GENERIC keyword. This keyword refers
to the encoding of the resource name. It does not correspond to the
type of profile returned. If the generic profile was retrieved, the
high-order bit will be on at offset X'A' in the work area
specified in the ICHEINTY macro. It will be off if a discrete profile
was returned.
- Error
- Difficulties while using the ICHEINTY macro.
- Action
- Read the documentation of the macro very carefully. The ICHEINTY
macro and its related macros are quite complex. They bypass exits,
naming conventions, authorization checking, and do little parameter
validation. They are recommended only when there is no other way
of accomplishing the task you want (no command or utility that will
do the same thing). Note that in some cases, the RACXTRT macro can
be used instead of the ICHEINTY macro.
- Error
- Message IRR401I reporting a DEQ abend (such as abend 730) or abend
0C4 in IRRMRT00 on an ICHEINTY macro.
- Action
- Check the specification of ENTRY or ENTRYX. This should point
to a 1-byte length followed by the ENTRY or ENTRYX NAME. If the length
is zero, or if it points directly to the ENTRY or ENTRYX name, an
overlay occurs, resulting in the abend.
