Configuring Content Search Services Support by using the Configuration Manager

The Content Search Services Support configuration options that are required for indexing items using the IBM® Content Search Services are stored in the IBM Content Collector Configuration Manager .

The configuration values are filled by IBM Content Collector during the initial configuration when the object store is configured for IBM Content Search Services and usually do not have to be changed or reset, unless, for example, settings change in your IBM FileNet® P8 environment.

If you want to specify additional data (document attributes and metadata) or IBM FileNet P8 attributes to include when the index is built, you must add these custom attribute and archive attribute definitions to the source document configuration in the Configuration Manager under General Settings > Content Search Services Support before you begin indexing the first time. You cannot change attribute settings after the index was built.

The logging and tracing in IBM Content Search Services is separate to the logging and tracing in Content Search Services Support. When you enable logging and tracing in the IBM FileNet Enterprise Manager for IBM Content Search Services, logging and tracing is not also enabled for Content Search Services Support. No Content Search Services Support logging information is added to the IBM Content Search Services log and trace files.

To enable logging, tracing, and any dump options in Content Search Services Support for debug purposes, or if you need to send log files to IBM Software Support, you must enable the respective options in the Configuration Manager.

Important: After you have changed any of the Content Search Services Support configuration settings and have saved these changes in the Configuration Manager, you must restart IBM Content Search Services to make your changes take affect.
