You are responsible for ensuring that the certain hardware and software requirements are met.
You are responsible for ensuring that the following prerequisites are met.
- Ensure that a 10 GE (either 10GbE BASE-T or 10GbE SFP+) top of rack (TOR) switch is available to connect to the nodes data plane. When calculating the number of required ports, it is recommended that at least two connections per node exist, since the Nutanix software stack defaults to automatically create network bonds across those connections, in an active-backup (high-availability) arrangement. For these ports, ensure that the ports are of the same speed.
- The number of TOR switches for the data plane is dependent on your network configuration and topology, becausee the Nutanix software stack binds ports on each node in an active-backup configuration, you must have at least two TOR switches (one port of each node in each switch).
- Ensure that a 1GbE BASE-T capable switch is available for connecting the IPMI management ports. One connection per node.
- Ensure that all software licenses have been purchased. The IBM® Hyperconverged Systems powered by Nutanix offering includes an Acropolis Pro License, and an optional upgrade to Acropolis Ultimate License can be purchased. You are responsible for ensuring that any other software licenses are purchased, such as guest operating systems licenses and software workloads licenses.
- Ensure that each node has redundant power supply cables (two per node) attached to an ac power source.
- Ensure that the system is placed in a properly cooled data center environment.
