Contacting IBM service and support for IBM Data Engine for Analytics

If you need service assistance with IBM® Data Engine for Analytics, contact IBM service and support by telephone or through the IBM Support Portal.

If your IBM Elastic Storage Server has version 4.5 (ESS 4.5) or later installed, the call-home function supports the automatic reporting of platform events that require a service action that occur on an IBM Power® system. Platform events include power, cooling, processor, and memory events. The call-home function does not support the automatic reporting of device, adapter, or I/O expansion drawer events.
Note: IBM Systems Lab Services personnel must configure and initialize the call-home function. For more information about IBM Systems Lab Services, contact your IBM sales representative.

If your IBM Elastic Storage Server does not have version 4.5 (ESS 4.5) or later installed, or ESS 4.5 or later is installed but IBM Systems Lab Services personnel did not configure or initialize the call-home function, do not enable the call-home state for the IBM Elastic Storage Server systems or the IBM Data Engine for Analytics systems on the Hardware Management Console (HMC). If automatic call-home state is enabled for an IBM Elastic Storage Server system or an IBM Data Engine for Analytics system, see Manage Systems Call-Home to disable the call-home state for the system.

Customers in the United States, United States territories, or Canada can place a hardware service request online. To place a hardware service request online, go to the IBM Support Portal and click the link to open a new Electronic Service Call (ESC+) service request. You need an IBM ID to open an ESC+ service request. Always specify machine type 5146 and the serial number of the IBM Data Engine for Analytics system, regardless of which component has the issue.
