Storage commands
Use the commands in this section to configure certain aspects of a storage area network (SAN).
Tips:
- To discover, add, remove, and list information about storage systems, use the system commands.
- The storage commands are supported on servers based on Intel (such as System x), IBM® Power® systems, and System z® servers running Linux.
smcli commands
The following smcli storage commands and command groups are available:
- Storage-configuration settings
Default storage-configuration values are defined in the SSPTSetting.xml file. You can optionally configure these values. - lsnspool command
Use the lsnspool command to list the storage pools on the target storage subsystem. The optional attributes flag -A will take a list of volumes and only return the pools from where those volumes are allocated. The output will display the RAID type, available capacity, and name of the storage pool. - lsstpool command
Use the lsstpool command to display storage pools or storage system pools that are accessible by the server or servers given. - lsstvol command
Use the lsstvol command to list the volumes attached to given server or the volumes of a storage subsystem. - lsdatasource command
Use the lsdatasource command to list and filter all data sources. - manageV7000 command
Use the smcli manageV7000 command to manage an IBM Flex System® V7000 storage node or IBM Storwize® V7000 storage subsystem with the management software. - mkdatasource command
Use the mkdatasource command to begin using IBM Flex System Manager Storage Control to manage a data source, which is either a storage device, a storage subsystem, or a Fibre Channel switch. These devices and subsystems include the DS8000® family, SAN Volume Controller devices including the IBM Storwize V7000, as well as the Brocade Fibre Channel switches. - mkstvol command
Use the mkstvol command to allocate and attach storage to servers in a fibre channel SAN. - rmdatasource command
Use the rmdatasource command to stop using IBM Flex System Manager Storage Control to manage a data source, which is either a storage device, a storage subsystem, or a Fibre Channel switch. - rmstvol command
Use the rmstvol command to detach and remove a storage volume. - rmstfrompool command
Use the rmstfrompool command to remove storage subsystems from an existing system pool of type storage. - increasetimeout command
Use the increasetimeout command to modify the timeout configuration for IBM Flex System Manager and Storage Control timeout settings. - unmanageV7000 command
Use the unmanageV7000 command to remove a specified IBM Storwize V7000 storage subsystem from management by the management software. - Network storage hosts commands
Use the smcli network storage hosts commands to list network storage hosts and edit properties. - Network storage path commands
Use the smcli network storage path commands to list, create, and delete network storage paths and edit properties. - Network storage systems commands
Use the smcli network storage systems commands to list network storage systems and edit properties. - Network storage volumes commands
Use the smcli network storage volumes commands to list, create, and delete network storage volumes and edit properties. - Shared storage pools commands
Use the smcli shared storage pools commands to create, edit, and delete shared storage pools and their associated storage pools.
