Local scanning

When you scan from Taskmaster DotScan by using a local scanner, the scanned image files are delivered directly to the application's runtime batch folder. The scan task is responsible for creating the runtime batch files.

The application framework that is generated by the Datacap application wizard does not include a scan task. So, you need to create a scan task before you can scan locally. To create a scan task:

Remove the existing VScan task from the Main Job workflow or create a new workflow for scanning (because a job can have only one batch creation task).
Add a scan task to the workflow.
Tip: As an alternative to removing VScan and adding a scan task to the workflow, you can configure VScan to do physical scanning.
Configure the scanner settings.
Create a shortcut for the new scan task.

Detailed instructions are provided in Local scanner setup (optional). The instructions are specific to the TravelDocs application, but you can generalize them for any Taskmaster application.
