Configuring probabilistic party searches

For probabilistic party searches, the search criteria can only include attributes that are configured to be matched using the InfoSphere® MDM Probabilistic Matching Engine algorithm. Synchronization must be enabled for those attributes.

The CRITICALDATAELEMENT table defines the data elements that constitute the critical party data. Critical party data is monitored and synchronized with the InfoSphere MDM Probabilistic Matching Engine, which then creates derived data indices for probabilistic searching and matching.

Note: For more information about probabilistic matching, see Identifying data changes.

If you have previously configured synchronization for probabilistic suspected duplicate processing (matching), then no additional configuration is necessary to enable probabilistic party searches. The probabilistic search transactions use the same critical data elements and algorithm.

The probabilistic party search transactions, searchPersonProbabilistic and searchOrganizationProbabilistic, leverage the same search and match algorithm provided by the InfoSphere MDM Probabilistic Matching Engine. If you want to include new critical data elements for searching and matching, then you must ensure that the probabilistic matching algorithm is configured to process the new data elements.

Note: For more information about adding new critical data elements, see InfoSphere MDM Probabilistic Matching Engine matching algorithm customization.

InfoSphere MDM provides several different ways to configure searches so that they return the highest quality results.
