Starting the Windows license server

After you import or enter the license key, start the IBM IBM® Common Licensing.
  • The license server will not start until your license keys are installed.
  • The IBM Common Licensing is automatically set as a Windows service. The default start type is automatic. The license server starts automatically each time you start the computer. If you prefer to manually start the license server, change the start type. See Changing the default startup type to manual.

Starting the Windows license server

Procedure

  1. For Windows 2008:
    1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > FLEXlm License Manager.
    2. On the General tab under Service Status, click Start.
  2. For Windows 7:
    1. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click the FLEXlm License Manager service and click Start.
  3. For Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2012:
    1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click the FLEXlm License Manager service and click Start.
  4. For Windows Server 2016 :
    1. Click Start > Windows Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click the FLEXlm License Manager service and click Start.

Changing the default startup type to manual

Procedure

  1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > FLEXlm License Manager.
  2. On the General tab under Startup type, select manual.
