Reverting to a previous installation configuration
As you install, upgrade, and uninstall software in CICS Explorer®, configuration snapshots are kept in a history. You can revert to a previous configuration to back out the results of an unsuccessful installation, upgrade, or uninstall. You can also revert CICS Explorer to a previous version. However, you must have access to an update site because when you upgrade the CICS Explorer product, previous versions are not saved.
Before you begin
If you used IBM® Installation Manager to install, upgrade, or uninstall software in CICS Explorer, you can revert to a previous version by using the rollback feature, and you do not need to use the following procedure.
Important: It is a limitation of Eclipse that before you can revert to a previous
version of CICS Explorer you must have access to an
update site that includes the required version. You can download the update site from the IBM
Fix Centralwebsite.
To
download the update site, use the following steps:
- For the Product Group field, select Other Software or WebSphere®, and for Product, select CICS Explorer. For the Installed Version and Platform fields, select All, then click Continue.
- Select Browse for fixes and click Continue.
- Select the update site at the level you want to revert to and click Continue.
- Download the update site to your workstation. Do not uncompress the file. CICS Explorer requires a compressed file.
- In CICS Explorer, add the update site by using Adding a new software update site in IBM Explorer for z/OS documentation. on the workbench menu. For more information, see
