Silent fix pack installation
Use prepared silent response files to install the fix packs on single-server or clustered environments without any user interaction.
Before you begin
- Download the fix pack installer for your operating system
Windows: 6.0.2-ISS-SIM-FP00nn.exe
Unix or Linux®: 6.0.2-ISS-SIM-FP00nn.jar
- Download or obtain the response files by using one of the following ways:.
- Download the response files that are provided in the Security Identity Manager 6.0.2 image from IBM® Passport Advantage®. You can find the response files in the response_files directory.
- Prepare your response files by referring to the samples in Response files for silent fix pack installation.
- Download the response files from the following technote https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6187551.
Upgrade Required response files Single-server environments installvariablesUpgrade.properties
configResponseUpgrade.properties
Clustered environments For the deployment manager:
- installvariablesUpgrade.properties
- configResponseUpgrade.properties
For cluster members:- installvariablesUpgrade.properties
- configResponseCMUpgrade.properties
- Copy the response files installvariablesUpgrade.properties and configResponseUpgrade.properties to a directory on the target computer.
- Rename the configResponseUpgrade.properties.
For cluster members, rename the configResponseCMUpgrade.properties file as configResponse.properties.
- Update the response files with the correct values.
- Before you run the silent installation, ensure that all middleware components are working correctly. Ensure that the details are entered correctly. Any errors in setting up the system can result in the failure of silent installation.
