OPEN processing will set the new IEZDEB bit DEB2XEE4 if the cartridge is encrypted in the EEFMT4 format. OPEN will also set existing bit DEB2XENC if the cartridge is encrypted (regardless of the encryption format used). Refer to the IEZDEB mapping macro for additional bit settings pertaining to the recording format being used.
