How the AFPPARMS data set is allocated

Table 8 shows how the AFPPARMS data set specified with the AFPPARMS DD name in the startup procedure should be allocated.

Table 8. Allocation of AFPPARMS data set attributes
AttributeValueTypeDescription
DCB=DSORG=PORequiredData set organization
DSNTYPE=LIBRARYRequiredData set defined as PDSE
DCB=RECFM=xxRequiredAny value except "U"
DCB=LRECL=nnnnRequiredMaximum bytes in the record (see Note 1)
DISP=SHRRequiredData set can be shared
SPACE=(CYL,(nn,1,10))RequiredDirect access storage device (DASD) cylinders required to process data (see Note 2)
Notes:
  1. Any record size is valid; however, use a small record size, such as DCB=LRECL=120, to conserve DASD space.
  2. Space requirements are dependent on the type of DASD that is used and on the number of FSAs that are specified in the startup procedure.
