How the AFPPARMS data set is allocated
Table 8 shows how the AFPPARMS data set specified
with the AFPPARMS DD name in the startup procedure should be allocated.
Table 8. Allocation of AFPPARMS data set attributesAttribute | Value | Type | Description |
---|
DCB=DSORG= | PO | Required | Data set organization | DSNTYPE= | LIBRARY | Required | Data set defined as PDSE | DCB=RECFM= | xx | Required | Any value except "U" | DCB=LRECL= | nnnn | Required | Maximum bytes in the record (see Note 1) | DISP= | SHR | Required | Data set can be shared | SPACE= | (CYL,(nn,1,10)) | Required | Direct access storage device (DASD) cylinders
required to process data (see Note 2) |
Notes:
- Any record size is valid; however, use a small record
size, such as DCB=LRECL=120, to conserve DASD space.
- Space requirements are dependent on the type of
DASD that is used and on the number of FSAs that are specified in
the startup procedure.
