Importing servers

The servers are created in the QA environment and re-created in the preproduction and production environment. Re-creating the servers includes manual steps and is error prone. With the import server configuration option, users with the Developer role can import the agent and integration server configurations from a lower environment to a higher environment without the manual steps.

About this task

If a server with the same name exists on the target server, only JVM parameters and server parameters are updated. If the target environment also contains more servers than the source environment, the additional servers are not deleted. Only the existing servers from the source environment are imported into the target environment. No changes are made to the existing additional servers on the target servers.

Procedure

To import servers, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Self Service.
  2. From the Self Service menu, select Environments.
  3. Select an environment.
  4. In the Server configuration tab, click Server actions and select Import.

    A process is run to check if an import server process is already in progress. If a process is running, the newly added process is queued up.

  5. In the Source environment page, select the environment that you want to copy, and click Submit.

Results

All server details are imported into the target server.
