Fix pack process overview

Follow these steps to install a fix pack.

Prepare
  1. Update the installation server to the latest version. The latest version is provided in the most recent fix pack kit. For more information, see Update the installation server and agents.
  2. If you installed the agents on remote servers manually, update the agents. For more information, see Updating agents manually.
  3. Review the list of features and fixes in the fix pack. For more information, see the following documents:
  4. Back up your existing environment. For more information, see Back up your existing environment.

    This step is optional. Create a backup if you want to be able to roll back the fix pack.

  5. Verify the status of the servers in your deployment. For more information, see Verifying servers before you install a fix pack.
Install
  1. Decide how you want to update the database.
    • You can use the installation app to update the database. If you use this option, you need to enter DBA credentials when you install the fix pack.
    • A database administrator can update the database manually by running scripts. After the database is updated, you can use the installation app to complete the fix pack installation. If you use this option, you do not need to enter DBA credentials when you install the fix pack.

  2. Install the fix pack. For more information, see Installing a fix pack.
Complete post installation tasks
  1. Restore the solutions helpers, images, and Dojo toolkits. For more information, see Restoring solutions helpers, images, and other files.
  2. Configure new features. For more information, see Configure new features.
  3. Install solutions updates. For more information, see Solutions postinstallation tasks.
The following procedures are optional or conditional.
Re-generate the reporting framework
This procedure is required if you added new fields and you want to report on them.
