Offloading data from IBM Spectrum Protect Plus
For longer term protection, you can offload data from IBM Spectrum Protect Plus to IBM Spectrum Protect.

About this task
To offload data, you must set up IBM Spectrum Protect Plus as an object client to the IBM Spectrum Protect server. After you set up a corresponding object agent on the IBM Spectrum Protect server and start the service, offloading of data from IBM Spectrum Protect Plus to IBM Spectrum Protect is enabled.
You can also offload infrequently accessed data, or cold data, from the object client to the IBM Spectrum Protect server so that the server can store the data on physical tape media or in a virtual tape library (VTL).
