Creating contacts

If a recipient is not part of the IBM® Cognos® security system, you can create a contact for this person.

Procedure

  1. Click Manage > People > Contacts.
  2. Click the New icon new icon, and then click Contact contact icon.
  3. Enter the name and email address of the person.
  4. Click Create.

    The contact name appears in the Contacts panel.

What to do next

As you would with a user name in the Cognos Users namespace, you can click a contact's More icon Context menu icon, click Properties, and then have these options:
  • On the General tab under Advanced, you can disable or hide the contact.
  • On the Preferences tab, you can specify the contact's default format, their time zone, and the language of their Cognos Analytics content.
  • On the Permissions tab, you can set access permissions for the contact. For more information, see Setting access to capabilities.

You can also add the contact to a distribution list.
