Taking workflow servers offline

If a runtime workflow server is connected to IBM® Workflow Center and is currently online, you can take the server offline.

Before you begin

Ensure you have administrative access to the Workflow Center repository to take servers offline. For more information, see Granting access to the Workflow Center repository.

About this task

Taking a server offline removes the connection to the Workflow Center and any references Workflow Center has to the online server. When the server is offline, you cannot install process applications on the server from Workflow Center and IBM Workflow Server will not connect to Workflow Center.

Procedure

  1. On the online Workflow Server, perform one of the following actions:
  2. Ensure your changes are saved and synchronized with the nodes.
  3. Restart the Workflow Server deployment environment.
  4. Click the Servers tab in the Workflow Center console.
  5. For the server that you want to take offline, click Take Server Offline and confirm your selection.
  6. For the server that you just took offline, click Remove Offline Server and confirm your selection.

Results

If necessary, you can now create a new offline server to manage your deployment packages by following the instructions in Adding offline servers to the Workflow Center console.
