Push Profile actions to managed Zebra and Bluebird devices

You can remotely deploy predefined profiles that take actions on managed Zebra and Bluebird devices.

MaaS360 supports the following Push Profile actions:
  • Copy File - Remote Server
  • Copy File - Device
  • Remove File
  • Push OS Upgrade - Remote
  • Push OS Upgrade - Device

Copy File - Remote Server action

The Copy File - Remote Server action copies a file from a remote server to the device.

Requirements:
Zebra Bluebird
  • Device Admin: MX: 4.3+, MaaS360 for Android app version 5.85+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
  • Device Admin: MaaS360 for Android app version 6.20+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
Complete the following fields:
  • Remote Source URL: The URL location of the source file on the remote server. The device must be able to access the URL over the network. For example: https://myfilelocation.com/file.zip
  • Target file path (on device): The file path where you want to copy the file on the device. The file path supports 1 – 255 characters. For example: /sdcard/targetfoldername/file.txt
  • Schedule File Download for: The date and time in the future that you want to copy the file to the device. If this setting is left blank, the file is immediately downloaded on the device. This option requires MaaS360 for Android app version 6.25+.

Copy File - Device action

The Copy File - Device action copies a file from one location to another location on the device.

Requirements:
Zebra Bluebird
  • Device Admin: MX: 4.3+, MaaS360 for Android app version 5.85+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
  • Device Admin: MaaS360 for Android app version 6.20+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
Complete the following fields:
  • Source file path (on device): The path and the name of the source file on the device. The file path supports 1 – 255 characters. For example: /sdcard/sourcefoldername/file.txt
  • Target file path (on device): The file path where you want to copy the file on the device. The file path supports 1 – 255 characters. For example: /sdcard/targetfoldername/file.txt

Remove File action

The Remove File action deletes a file from a device.

Requirements:

  • Device Admin: MX: 4.3+, MaaS360 for Android app version 5.85+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
  • Device Admin: MaaS360 for Android app version 6.20+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
Complete the following fields:
  • Target file path (on device): The path of the file that must be deleted from the device. The file path supports 1 – 255 characters. For example: /sdcard/targetfoldername/file.txt

Push OS Upgrade - Device action

The Push OS Upgrade - Device action launches an OS update, OS downgrade, or OS patch on the device from a local OS update zip file.

Requirements:
Zebra Bluebird
  • Device Admin: MX: 4.1+, Android OS version 4.1+, MaaS360 for Android app version 5.85+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android version 7.30+.
  • Device Admin MaaS360 for Android app version 6.20+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
Complete the following fields:
  • Zip File Source Path: The local path of the OS update zip file that takes action on the device. The file path supports 1 – 255 characters. For example: /sdcard/foldername/ospatchfile.zip
  • Schedule Upgrade/Downgrade/Patch for: The date and time in the future that you want to take action on the device. If this setting is left blank, the OS update, OS downgrade, or OS patch binaries are downloaded and immediately applied on the device.

Push OS Update - Remote action

The Push OS Update - Remote action launches an OS update on the device from a remote OS update zip file.

Requirements:
Zebra Bluebird
  • Device Admin: MX: 4.3+, MaaS360 for Android app version 5.85+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
  • Device Admin: MaaS360 for Android app version 6.05+
  • Device Owner: MaaS360 for Android app version 7.30+
Complete the following fields:
  • Remote Source URL: The URL location of the source file on the remote server. The device must be able to access the URL over the network. For example: https://myfilelocation.com/file.zip. You can use device custom attributes in the URL. For example: https://%server%/files/file.zip. For Bluebird devices, you must enter the zip and text files as comma-separated values in the following sequence: https://%server%/files/file.zip,https://%server%/files/updatefile.txt
  • Zip File Source Path: The path of the OS update zip file that takes action on the device. The file path supports 1 – 255 characters. For example: /sdcard/foldername/ospatchfile.zip. For Bluebird devices, you must enter the zip and text files as comma-separated values in the following sequence: /sdcard/files/file.zip,/sdcard/files/updatefile.txt
  • Target Build Number: The build number of the target file.
  • Schedule Upgrade/Downgrade/Patch Download for: The date and time in the future that you want to schedule the download of the OS upgrade, OS downgrade, or OS patch binaries on the device. If this setting is left blank, the binaries are immediately downloaded on the device. You must download binaries before you can upgrade the binaries on the device. This setting requires MaaS360 for Android app version 6.25+.
  • Schedule Upgrade/Downgrade/Patch for: The date and time in the future when you want to schedule the OS upgrade, OS downgrade, or OS patch on the device. If this setting is left blank, the OS update, OS downgrade, or OS patch binaries are downloaded and immediately applied on the device.
