Replacing the fan in the 8348-21C

Learn how to replace the fan in the IBM® Power® System S812LC (8348-21C) system.

Procedure

  1. While holding the fan at (A), lower the fan into the system while you are aligning the standoffs with the slots in the system chassis, as shown in Figure 1. Ensure that the arrow on the fan is pointing toward the rear of the system.

  2. Connect the fan cable (B) to the disk drive backplane, as shown in Figure 1.
