IBM Notes features
Email, calendar and contact management
Send and receive mail, manage your calendar, and maintain contacts and to-do items. Advanced mail management and search capabilities help you find what matters most and keep it right in front of you. IBM collaboration technologies such as profiles, network, and business cards enhance contact management and calendar capabilities. Capabilities such as Live Text bring applications like Google maps or calendar into your inbox.
IBM Connections Files and Connections Profiles
Integration with IBM® Connections™ enables you to take actions on files directly from the mail message: Preview, download, comment on or like a file using an IBM Connections file link; follow the file for updates and share it with your team; access profiles, including roles, skill sets and areas of responsibility—even microblogs that can relate recent assignments. You can also view a collaboration history to review previous work you shared.
Instant messaging with IBM Sametime
Access and initiate presence awareness and instant messaging chats from the IBM Notes email client using IBM Sametime®. In addition, IBM Sametime offers online meetings, voice, video and file sharing.
Mobility and web accessibility
Access IBM Notes® using the installed desktop client, browser or mobile device using IBM Notes Traveler. IBM Notes supports Apple iOS, Android, and Symbian. IBM Notes and Domino® support Windows Phone 7.5 and 7.8; Microsoft Windows Phone 8; Windows 8 Tablet RT and Pro; BlackBerry 10; and IBM i Server. IBM iNotes® is a web-based IBM Notes client that provides browser access. IBM Notes Browser Plug-in provides access to business applications from the web.
Integrate, develop and deploy business applications
Use the included OpenSocial component to enable third-party access from your inbox. It supports IBM iNotes widgets and Live Text, OpenSocial 2.0 gadgets and embedded experiences, and provides updates to XWork Server to support broader and more flexible license terms. The OpenSocial component also improves IBM Domino Designer and XPages to enable better IBM Notes, web and mobile applications, and provides a range of deployment options.
Enable application developers to embed content from applications inside of OpenSocial 2.0 containers, such as a gadget or web page. Containers and gadgets that support embedded content can render that content in an embedded experience.
