Extraordinary bandwidth control

The bandwidth utilization algorithm in FASP enables fast, automatic discovery of the bandwidth capacity and its full utilization while remaining fair to other traffic.

Configurable "fair play" to standard TCP traffic

While FASP can fill any available bandwidth, it also includes an intelligent adaptive transmission-rate control mechanism that throttles down for fairness to standard TCP traffic, and automatically ramps back up to fully utilize the unused bandwidth.

Flexible and open architecture

Aspera supports interoperable file and directory transfers between all major operating systems and cloud platforms, and provides a complete, modern software API.

Activity reporting and monitoring

Aspera provides end-to-end transfer progress reporting and detailed performance statistics for real-time monitoring and reporting, and for custom pre- and post-transfer processing.

Cloud

Built into our cloud offerings is the unique Aspera direct-to-cloud technology. It integrates FASP high-speed transport with the underlying multi-part HTTP interfaces of the cloud object storage layer, enabling the fastest file uploads and downloads on all major cloud platforms. Aspera cloud products also include key transfer management features such as pause, automatic resume, reporting and encryption over the wire and at rest.

Autoscale

The Aspera transfer platform includes autoscale capabilities for dynamic, real-time scale out of transfer capacity. They include automatic start/stop of transfer server instances, available idle instances, automatic balancing of client requests and configurable service levels to manage transfer load per instance. The functionality is complemented by a scale out data store for distributed collection, aggregation and reporting of all transfer details across the auto scale cluster.

Deploy cloud-native software

The newest platform supported by the Aspera high-speed transfer server is IBM Cloud Private. The release includes a transformed version of Aspera’s transfer server into modern microservices that leverage Docker containers and Helm charts.
