z/OS Cloud Broker prerequisites
Before you install IBM® z/OS® Cloud Broker, you must meet the system requirements and complete the deployment requirements for OpenShift® Container Platform.
System hardware requirements
- x86 or Linux on IBM Z server that runs OpenShift Container Platform
- EC12 or higher IBM Z hardware
System software requirements
- OpenShift Container Platform 4.5 or higher
- z/OS 2.3 or 2.4
- IBM Cloud Provisioning and Management (CP&M) for z/OS Plug-in for z/OSMF
- For z/OS 2.3, PTF UI62926 and UI63275 are required, and APAR PI96931 is recommended.
- For z/OS 2.4, PTF UI64445 and UI64622 are required.
Important: Ensure that the templates of software services that you want to provision through z/OS Cloud Broker are published in z/OSMF. For more information about publishing software service templates in z/OSMF, see Prepare and publish a template.
OpenShift Container Platform deployment requirements
- Install the OpenShift Client command line tool. If you are using an OpenShift cluster that was deployed with the
IBM Kubernetes Service, follow the instruction to install the OpenShift Origin CLI (
oc
) that includes a matching version of the Kubernetes CLI (kubectl
). - Ensure that you have the domain administrator authority to access IBM Cloud Provisioning and Management (CP&M) on z/OS.
Note: The RACF profiles need to be configured to enable permissions for CP&M plug-in in z/OSMF. For more information, see Security requirements for the Cloud Provisioning tasks.
Requirements for IBM Cloud Pak foundational services
If you are installing z/OS Cloud Broker 1.3.2 or later and License Service is not already installed on your cluster, you must install IBM Cloud Pak foundational services.
