Uploading logs

You can upload new log packages directly to your existing support tickets, ensuring that the support team has the necessary information.

Before you begin

Before uploading new log packages to an existing support ticket, consider the following:
  • You can upload only new log packages and not the existing package to the IBM Storage Ceph® support ticket.
  • For Blue Diamond customers, automatic log package upload for IBM Storage Ceph is not supported. You must manually upload the log package to the ticket. But, for IBM Storage Virtualize or IBM DS8000 log package is uploaded automatically. For more information, see Blue Diamond: Customer diagnostic data upload instructions.

Procedure

To upload the new log packages for the existing support ticket, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Overview dashboard, go to Main menu > Inventory > Storage systems.
  2. Click the storage system for which you want to get the logs.
  3. Select System actions > Get logs from the drop-down.

    It opens the page where you can update the existing ticket of the device.

  4. Select the ticket or enter the ticket number and click Next.
  5. Select Create new package or Add existing package option and then select the appropriate log from the drop-down.

    Click Get logs.

    It updates the ticket with the selected log package and displays success message after processing the ticket.
