BRMS-created objects for cloud backup and recovery
BRMS provides turnkey cloud functionality, enabling users to take advantage of cloud storage services with minimal configuration.
After adding a new cloud resource with IBM® Cloud Storage Solutions for i , BRMS automatically creates a set of default configurations it uses to store media in the cloud space.
When the command INZBRM OPTION (*DATA) or STRMNTBRM runs,
BRMS discovers and creates a set of default
configurations for each cloud resource located. These configurations include:
The turnkey feature creates these objects based on the resource discovered by BRMS when BRMS maintenance or initialization is run on the
system. Users do not need to configure these objects. If necessary, users can create their own
objects and use them in place of the turnkey solution.
When a turnkey backup or move operation is run, BRMS creates the additional objects:
The type of media, either virtual tape or virtual optical disk, depends on the media class.
These objects can be created independently by users and loaded into the virtual device manually, see
User-initiated data transfers for instructions.
