Configuring the UI to receive inventory data

As a Tenant administrator, the steps to configure the UI to receive inventory data differ depending on whether you are using IBM® Sterling Order Management System or any other Order Management System.

About this task

The IBM onboarding team handles all the tasks that are required to configure the user interface to receive inventory data if you are using IBM Sterling Order Management System as your management system.

However, if you are not using IBM Sterling Order Management System, you can complete the following procedure to connect the tenant to your Order Management System.

Procedure

  1. Log in by using your IBMid.
For more information, see Logging into Order Hub.
  2. Click Settings > Configurations from the menu.
  3. You can enable or disable the following features globally for your tenant:
    Product class
Displays the product class as a search option on the Inventory search page.
In the Default product class for search field, you can specify a default class that is automatically populated on the search page.
    Unit of measure
Displays the unit of measure as a search option on the Inventory search page.
In the Default UOM for search field, you can specify a default class that is automatically populated on the search page.
    Include sibling nodes
By default this option is set to off, where the node searches include only child nodes. Turn on this feature to include searches for both sibling and child nodes.
Note: If you are subscribed to IBM Sterling Order Management System:

You can create workspaces to include sibling nodes with this feature option selected. If you disable the option after a workspace is created, you can still see the sibling nodes on your workspace. But, when you navigate to node list page by clicking the node alert count or node count, you see a reduced number of nodes on node list. The number is reduced because the node list does not include the sibling nodes anymore.

Show buyer organization information for orders
When working with orders, this option enables fields that include buyer information. For example, in Order search, you can search by Buyer.
Note: This option is applicable only if you are subscribed to IBM Sterling Order Management System.
    Show personal information
When working with orders, this option enables fields that display email, given name, and surname . For example, in order details you can see personal information.
Note: This option is applicable only if you are subscribed to IBM Sterling Order Management System.
Maximum number of records to return in search results
Specify the maximum number of search records to return. You might want to set a smaller value to improve search performance.
    Show supply types
The Inventory page displays an Inventory supply pie chart. Select the supply types that you want displayed in the chart.
    Show demand types
The Inventory page displays an Inventory demand pie chart. Select the demand types that you want displayed in the chart.
  4. Under Add-ons > Order management, click Add to configure a connection to your Order Management System.
  5. Enter the following information about your Order Management System:
    Option Description
    Transaction server hostname (Required)

Enter the hostname of your Order Management System. For example, hostname.ibm.com:port_number

    Administration tool path (Required)

Enter the URL to launch the administration tool. For example, smcfs

System type Select the nature of the environment of the Order Management System. You can select any of the default options available or you can enter a specific name for your environment. For example, Test, Production
  6. Click Save.
  7. Under Inventory Management, click Add.
  8. Enter the following information about your inventory management system:
    Tenant ID
Enter the tenant ID that has permissions to connect to a specific inventory server.
    Data center location
Select the data center location from which the inventory data is to be accessed.
  9. Click Save.
