Troubleshooting and support
Use the information in this section to help you diagnose problems, run diagnostic tools, or submit a problem report.
If you experience issues when running your Java application on IBM® SDK, Java™ Technology Edition, a number of resources are available to help you solve your problem.
If you experience problems after migrating from an earlier version of the SDK, make sure that you read the Migrating section of this guide to learn about any important differences that might affect your application code.
Read about any limitations that are documented in this section of the guide. Where possible, instructions are available to help you work around the problem.
Use the problem determination section to identify the possible cause of your issue. If you believe that the problem might be related to a component of the Java virtual machine, a wide variety of diagnostic tools are available to help you narrow down and discover the root cause. For more information, see Diagnostic data and tooling in the Eclipse OpenJ9 user documentation. This content describes how to generate dump files, verbose logs, and trace files, which are supported by a variety of diagnostic tools and interfaces.
Follow the instructions on the IBM Support Java SDK troubleshooting page to determine if you have discovered a known problem, which might already be resolved by a software update.
If you have a support contract with IBM and require further help to solve your problem, see Submitting problem reports.
