Getting the installation files

You download the product installation files from IBM® Passport Advantage®, and decompress them on your computer.

Before you begin

You use IBM Installation Manager to install the product files. If you do not have the installer, follow the instructions at IBM Installation Manager External link opens a new window or tab.

Procedure

  1. Go to Passport Advantage Online External link opens a new window or tab to download the installation files.
    Start by looking up the version to be installed in Operational Decision Manager Download Documents External link opens a new window or tab. You are directed to a download document that contains instructions for downloading and installing the files.
  2. In Passport Advantage Online, select the files that correspond to your operating system, and download them to the same directory on your computer.
    To aid file extraction, make the path to the files short, for example, C:\Download or /Download.
  3. Decompress the files on your computer:
    • If you use WinZip, clear TAR file smart CR/LF conversion in Option > Configuration > Miscellaneous.
    • If you are an AIX® user, you must use both the native UNIX tar command and the GNU version of this command because the native utility does not support long file names.

Results

The files are used as installation repositories by IBM Installation Manager. Depending on your licenses, you get all or a combination of disk folders:
