Downloading Log Analysis

Read this document to get an overview of how to download Log Analysis from Passport Advantage®.

  1. Plan your installation. For more information, see About Log Analysis
  2. Review the prerequisites, including the hardware and software requirements. For more information, see Prerequisites.
  3. Go to Passport Advantage at https://www.ibm.com/software/passportadvantage/pao_customer.html.
  4. Choose the type of installation.

    IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis for Linux® on System x86_64 or Linux on System z®. For more information, see Extra requirements for Linux on System z and Linux on System x based servers.

    To install IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis on Linux on System x86_64, download the IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis Linux 64 bit M0GJREN package.

    To install IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis on Linux on System z, download the IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis Linux on System z 64 bit M0GJSEN package.

    To install IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis on IBM Power8 Little Endian for Linux based servers, download the IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis Power8 ppc64le ALL editions M0GJTEN package.

  5. When you untar the downloaded package, you will see the following files and archives.
    • CodeSign_README.pdf This file contains instructions on how to optionally validate the signed artifacts in the downloaded package.
    • PRD0002522key.pem.cer IBM certificate authority (CA) certificate file required to optionally validate IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis artifacts.
    • IBM_LogAnalytics*.tar.gz.sig This file contains the signature file for the signed artifacts.
    • PRD0002522key.pem.chain IBM certificate authority (CA) certificate file required to optionally validate IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis artifacts.
    • PRD0002522key.pem.pub.key IBM certificate authority (CA) certificate file required to optionally validate IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis artifacts.
    • IBM_LogAnalytics*.tar.gz This is the IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis installation archive. You will need to extract this package and use the install.sh file in it to install IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis when following the instructions in Installing.
    • OALAMDB1.3.8_*BALLEDITEN.tar This is the tar file that you downloaded from Passport Advantage.
  6. Install the product. For more information about how to install the product, see Installing.
  7. Complete the post-installation configuration. For more information, see Postinstallation configuration.
  8. After you install IBM Operations Analytics Log Analysis, you can configure it to meet your needs. For more information, see Configuring.
