Maximo® Application Suite customers who deployed and activated
Maximo Manage can download the Maximo
Mobile
app from the Apple App store, Google Play store, or Microsoft store.
The navigator
The navigator is the home page of the app. From here, you can begin many of your key tasks for
the day. If you have the correct permissions, you can even create records from the navigator. Tap
the plus to create records, such as work orders, service requests, and inspections. You can return
to the navigator from any page in the app by tapping the navigator menu.
Standard applications and features
When you download the Maximo
Mobile app, the following applications and
features are included in the download. Depending on your permissions, you might not see all
applications.

- Approve, assign, and monitor work. This application is visible only to users who have the
authority to approve work, that is, supervisors can review work order details and approve the work
orders so that technicians can start their work.
If notifications are configured, you receive a
notification on your device when a work order requires your approval. Tap the notification to open
the Approvals function and review the work orders.

- In the Inspections application, conduct inspections that have been defined in the Inspection
Forms application and record inspection results, review the results of completed inspections, and
create unscheduled inspections.
As an inspector, you complete inspections and record inspection
results. You can also create an unscheduled inspection form or view inspection results from the
Assets, Locations, and Work Order Tracking applications. You can conduct bulk unscheduled
inspections on assets or locations.
When an inspection form is activated, use the form to
inspect an asset or location. Filter your inspections by pending, in progress, and completed status.
During an inspection, filter the list of questions on the form to show the required or incomplete
questions. Answers to each question are automatically saved. After you answer all required
questions, review your responses in the Inspections Summary window and complete the
inspection.
In the Inspections application, you can also:

Mobile, use count
books and ad hoc counting of items to set storeroom inventory balances. Then, you can use
reconciliation to update balances and ensure valid inventory balances in the database.
Use the
Inventory Counting application in the following ways.
- Use and complete count books to count items in groups, based on various criteria. You can create
count books in the Count Books application in Maximo Manage.
- Record physical counts for items and rotating assets in inventory.
- Use count tolerances to allow for minor discrepancies between current balance and physical
counts.
- Reconcile physical counts by using the Inventory Counting application in Maximo Manage.
- See alerts for discrepancies and identify situations that require recounting.
- Use cycle counts in batches.

- In the Issues and Transfers application in Maximo
Mobile, storeroom
clerks can issue reserved items that are reserved for approved work orders, issue items from
inventory without a reservation, and transfer items between storerooms.
Storeroom clerks can use
inventory usage records to issue items that are reserved for approved work orders or material
requisitions. They can issue items from inventory without a reservation and transfer items between
storerooms, either online or offline. Users can load inventory usage records that they have access
to on their device, save their workflow to resume later, and then load a workflow that began on
another device or in Maximo Manage.
Use the Issues and Transfers application to manage your inventory in the following
ways.
- Issue inventory items
- Issue inventory items by choosing them from a storeroom and assigning them to a work order, an
asset, or an operating location.
- Issue reserved items to a work order or material requisition.
- Issue reserved tools to a work order by assigning them to a person.
- Create and issue inventory usage records. Edit, delete, and add inventory usage lines.
- Add multiple inventory items without a reservation.
- Add reserved and nonreserved items to a single inventory usage record.
- Check available inventory balances by using the role-based application in your mobile
browser.
- Transfer items between storerooms
- Create inventory usage records to transfer inventory items or tools from one storeroom to
another.
- Move inventory stock between storerooms in two different sites by loading inventory usage
records in the Inventory Usage application.
- Create shipments for transfers
- Create shipments from inventory usage records by using the mobile application.
- Stage inventory items
- Stage items by using inventory usage records.
- Permit request

- Technicians can create and update work permit records that are integrated with IBM Maximo Health, Safety and Environment and IBM Maximo for Oil and Gas.
- Receiving

- In the Receiving application in Maximo
Mobile, storeroom clerks can
receive inventory items and shipments by using the Inventory receiving and Shipment receiving
options.
- Inventory Receiving

Using Inventory Receiving, storeroom clerks can receive materials from purchase orders, either
online or offline. As part of the receiving activity, storeroom clerks can inspect and return items,
and view or void receipts.
Storeroom clerks can use Inventory Receiving to manage their inventory in the following ways.
- Look up purchase orders to receive items against, based on name, description, or
attributes.
- Use the device's camera to scan bar codes and QR codes to identify purchase orders.
- Receive or partially receive items into inventory.
- Stop and resume the receiving workflow at any time.
- Use voice-to-text to capture packing slip details or inspection remarks.
- Shipment receiving

Using Shipment Receiving, storeroom clerks can receive and stock items from another storeroom
within the same organization, either online or offline.
Storeroom clerks can use Shipment Receiving to manage their inventory in the following ways.
- Receive items and conduct inspections.
- Receive condition-enabled and lotted items.
- Receive rotating items.
- Return items and void receipts.
- Service requests

- Open a service request to report an issue. When you spot a problem, such as a leaking air
conditioning unit, you can log in to Maximo Mobile on your device
and create a service request. You can also view the details of service requests that you created in
the past.
Unlike the other functions in Maximo
Mobile, the service
request function does not require AppPoints. The user who opens the service request must have a
Maximo Application Suite account.
- Technician
- All releases
- In the Technician app, you manage and execute your assigned work orders. You can review work
details, update the work progress, report actuals, and finish tasks from your mobile device.
As a
technician, you can:
- View work orders that are assigned to you and filter them by priority, status, or due date.
- View work orders on a map to plan routes and optimize travel time.
- Access work order details like job plans, instructions, and safety requirements.
- Record labor hours, tool consumption, and material usage.
- Update the work order status as you work on tasks.
- Capture and attach images, notes, documents to work orders for improved documentation.
- Report failures and update the information for failure classes.
- Request materials, tools, or services, as and when needed.
- View related asset and location details to understand the work context.
- Log activities and review work logs for historical reference.
- Create follow-up work orders for anything that might require further attention.
- Record meter readings to enter and update values like energy consumption, runtime hours, or fuel
levels.
